THE MODERN GIDEON
Times are changing, and with over a hundred
years of experience sharing God’s Word, we’ve
learned to adapt to shifting cultures. If you
check out The Gideons International In Canada
today, you’ll see plenty of new developments.
Still doing what we’ve always done – sharing
the gospel with Scripture – we innovate modern
tools to share God’s love around the globe.
The NewLife app was designed to provide
online Bible access in a digital age, and answer
life’s tough questions even when we can’t be
there in person. Not only is it relevant, it’s also
brilliant for countries with restrictions on printed
materials. Scripture magazines – encouraging
verses around themes of Hope, Redemption
and Light laid out in colourful, inviting design –
are going further than we could have imagined.
Through our international arm Share Word
Global, we’re impacting lives all over the world,
including China, Africa, South Asia, North
America, Latin America, and the former Soviet
Union. The power of God’s Word is undeniably
life changing. We do our part, and the Holy
Spirit does the rest.
And our part looks something like this: taking
Bibles, New Testaments, Gospels of John,
The best part? It’s not just Bibles anymore,
but it’s still just the Bible.

GROUP OF 440 MILLION
WOMEN — SOME WITHIN YOUR
And now you can reach them for free
50 years ago this group didn’t exist. What
happened? Abortion. Even within the Church.
Two studies indicate the ratio of postabortion
women within the Church is high.
These women believe they are alone in their
self-hatred that could lead to suicide, addictions
and relationship breakdown. The pain never
dissipates. It can intensify end-of-life suffering.
A leading researcher says these women have
been wounded and abandoned by the medical
community that denies the associated physical
and emotional health risks. But the courts,
judges and juries have validated the horrific
problems that often arise. There is also a dark
spiritual dimension. Postabortion women speak
of realizing too late they have “made a pact
with the devil.” And of this group postabortion
women in the Church carry the highest shame
levels, but are afraid to confess.
Who has the tools and strategy to reach
them? The 110-year-old ministry SCA
International (formerly Shantymen’s Christian
Association) is working with the local church
