EXACTLY THE WRONG TIME
This is simply the wrong time
to walk away!
South Sudan is overcome with chaos.
Politically it is in an uproar. Economically it’s
a failed nation. Militarily it has opened up a
whole new era of divided and opposing armies.
Socially it has hit a new low. Corruption reigns.
Internationally it is a “no go” area for reasons
of safety. The latest report is that about a
million people have fled the country again, and
another 1.2 million have been displaced within
its borders. People are starving.
Some nations and nongovernment agencies
have simply given up on it.
This is exactly the wrong time to walk away
from South Sudan, especially for us who are
Christians. Cal Bombay Ministries does not walk
away from problems. You can be assured God
has not abandoned this new young country!
South Sudan is one of the hottest places on
earth, not just in temperature, but in conflict and
confusion. There are no indications in the Bible
that even suggest Christians should sit back,
wait and hope things work out.
The Church in South Sudan is not walking
away, but they fear the Church around the
world is turning just as blind an eye as the
secular world around it.
Surprisingly to some, Cal Bombay Ministries
is still operating, growing food, and helping
farmers in its remote location where there are
yet to be armies fighting or bullets flying.
This is exactly the right time for you to

Now is exactly the right time for you to give

A lot of churches are interested in discipleship.
They are asking big questions about moving
people from spiritual immaturity to maturity. If,
for example, you had a boy from the age of
four through 18, how confident are you that you
would be able to disciple him over those 14
years so by the time he graduates high school,
he could stand on his own two feet, spiritually,
socially, physically and mentally?
That is the challenge before our children
and youth ministries. It is also the challenge of
everyone in our churches who has children –
our parents. Imagine being able to work with
fathers and men over the 14 years our boys are
growing up, equipping the current generations
of men with the tools, including an active
spiritual road map, to see their sons and young
men become the next generation of godly men
able to lead our Church.
Such a program/tool exists. It is called
Christian Service Brigade, a single-gender
ministry building godly men of today and
tomorrow since 1937.
