longing. I think that’s just healthy for us.”
For people who don’t know how
to start living mission-focused, Chris
advises to watch and observe, asking
God who you can encourage that week,
invite for a meal or spend time with.
It’s “just being present with people
in the same way we read about Jesus
being present and available to people
he lived among,” he says.
Mission is being sent out, Chris believes, adding this concept was made
complete in God sending His Son to
show us what it’s like to experience
belonging, healing and forgiveness.
A big part of
Jesus' love, care
“I think those who follow Jesus are
called to be sent,” Chris says, “It’s the
idea that, if I am serious about following
Jesus, a big part of that identity as one
of His followers is being sent into the
world to demonstrate love, care and
compassion in His name.”
Where is Emily’s
favourite place to
spend time with God?
Sitting by the lake near her house.
There’s something about the water that
makes her feel peaceful and at rest.
