When you signed up to be a christian,
it was either during a moment of com-
plete brokenness or complete serenity.
Either way, i’m sure no one sat down
and gave you a handbook or was eager
to explain the challenges, the attacks
and the hardships that awaited you from
the moment you chose to accept Jesus
christ as lord and Saviour and invited
him into your heart.
it probably seemed, or seems, like no
matter how much you try to worship,
praise, adore, love or hold onto God,
the lashes keep striking you harder and
the conflicts keep getting bigger.
Who hasn’t thought about how
people who aren’t christians – people
living in sin – have better things and
opportunities than we do? it sure looks

us with the amazing gift of the holy Spirit
to be our helper and counsellor – so for
times when we feel down or defeated,
we turn to him (John 16: 7).
The Enemy knows that we were
fearfully and wonderfully made (psalm
139: 14), he knows God has plans for
our life (Jeremiah 29: 11), and he knows
God will supply all of our needs according to his riches in glory (philippians
Because he knows that many can
be influenced, changed and be led to
God through us, he will do anything
in his power to destroy us. and the
biggest way he’s going to do that is by
tempting us. We, on the other hand,
have a much more powerful force, the
