PART MEMOIR; PART MANIFESTO
The mission of changing the world has changed… a lot!
How aware are you? Are you responding appropriately?
“Thank you, Yaw, for reminding us that an old vision is
finished. God is doing a new thing. May God help us all
get on board.”
Dr. Paul Borthwick, Author, Western Christians in Global
Mission: What’s the Role of the North American Church?
“Dr. Perbi’s grasp of ho w to shatter the paradigm of a static
10/40 window should be considered by missiologists and
missions-minded individuals from any nation. The 10/40
window has become incredibly dynamic and interactive,
and in Thinking Outside the Window Dr. Perbi teaches us
how to become strategically engaged with it.”

The church is one of Mennonite Central
Committee’s 450 partners in 60 countries.
We believe that as we remain faithful to our
mission of relief, development and peace
in the name of Christ, we are most effective
when we walk alongside community-based
churches and organizations. In Nepal, working
with local partners, we responded with
emergency supplies within days of a massive
earthquake. Together with the Christian Council
of Mozambique, we are bringing water to
drought-prone villages. Other partners are
providing food and shelter to displaced people
in the Middle East. In Canada, we are assisting
churches with refugee sponsorship.
Mennonite Central Committee has been
working in the name of Christ for 96 years. We
invite you to join us in that mission.
Navigating the 21st century
Explore and renew your faith this summer
Take time to grow both spiritually and
intellectually, and retreat from the daily bustle
this summer. Tyndale Seminary offers over
35 courses during the summer and a unique,
retreat-style experience on our beautiful
56-acre campus. You will be challenged to
explore where God is calling you next, and also
strengthen your ministry in whatever context
you are serving.
Courses like “Life in the Mess: A Theology of
Forgiveness and Reconciliation” allow you to
grow deeper in your theological understanding.
You will outline a biblical model of reconciliation
in the face of issues such as family breakdown
and international conflict.
In the course “Transforming Community
through the Local Church,” examine
prophetic and compassionate ministries that
enable communities to experience God’s
transformative work, and consider how these
ministries can be integrated within the church.
A wide range of courses are available that
will fit your busy schedule. Take a course
online, at night or as a one-week intensive.
Grow in your current ministry role and let
Tyndale help you navigate the 21st-century
issues facing the church.
YOUTH FOR CHRIST
Helping hurting youth
She sat in our family room telling us about
growing up as a foster kid. Her mom had died
when she was 12. Her siblings had grown up in
different foster homes. Her dad had no interest
in her. She was almost 18, and the foster
system was ending for her. The only options
seemed to be the drug or sex trade.
As I listened to her story, God gave me
an epiphany. What if she was wrong in the
perception of her Father and her options? What
if her Father really did love her and wanted a
relationship with her, and it was up to me to
make the introduction?
That is the calling of Youth for Christ (YFC)
– loving today’s hurting youth who have no
idea of their loving heavenly Father and His
personal interest in them. In our YFC drop-in
centres, teen-mom programs, sports programs,
summer camps and so many other relationship-building platforms, we are there, sent by God to
make this introduction.
Come and join us at Youth for Christ/Youth
Unlimited … as a volunteer, as a prayer
partner, as a financial partner. Whatever God
has entrusted you with, come and use it to help
us help hurting youth in Jesus’ name.
