CSI provides opportunities for
Christian professors to teach overseas
in public universities and colleges.
CSI is the Canadian affiliate of Global
Scholars (GS) in the USA. Currently
CSI and GS have over 60 Christian
professors working in post-secondary
institutions in Africa, Asia, Eastern
Europe and Latin America.
Professors teaching with CSI must
raise some of their own support to
supplement the often-meagre salary
provided by the host university or
college. CSI assists in raising these
funds from churches, friends and
supporters. CSI is a registered charity;
all gifts are tax deductible. Online
donations can be made through
Canada Helps ( www.canadahelps.org).

Equipping for leadership
The mission of Heritage Theological
Seminary is to equip people for
theologically grounded leadership and
ministry to serve the mission of God in
the world through their involvement in
evangelical churches, denominations
and parachurch ministries. In the past
year, Heritage Theological Seminary has
launched a new five-course program
titled Graduate Certificate in Biblical
Preaching. It is designed for pastors who
are in a regular preaching ministry and
who want to take their preaching to the
next level. Courses are offered three
times a year – March, June and October
(the latter to coordinate with the Heritage
Each course will consist of two
days of instruction and a third day
marked out for a hands-on workshop
in which the students prepare sermon
manuscripts. Then, over the next
several months, the students will
video-record and upload four sermons
preached in their churches to be
critiqued by peers and Heritage-appointed professors. Each student
will develop a personal growth plan
(PGP) that will guide the journey
through the five courses.
All five courses are for credit and
can be applied to any of the graduate
certificates, diplomas or master’s degrees
that Heritage Seminary offers.

approximately 100 students join the
full-time staff to create a community
intent on knowing Jesus Christ as life.
The desire of every staff member at
Capernwray Harbour is to prepare each
student for “full-time Christian service,
regardless of occupation.”
