Altering the reality of poverty
The call to care for the world’s most vulnerable people is more clear, consistent and
compelling than it’s ever been. In response,
Speroway has been at work since 2004,
addressing sustainable community development needs for food security, education and
Last year alone, Speroway procured
$10.7 million in food and other essential
supplies, delivering them to over 71 agencies
in Canada and overseas, helping those who
need it most.
Because maternal and child health is a
primary concern, Speroway has been taking
medical and dental teams to Central America since 2007, providing much-needed
primary care for more than 25,000 people
in honduras, Guatemala, Nicaragua, El Salvador and haiti, and distributing medicines,
vitamins, food and clothing.
Speroway recognizes the presence of
poverty in Canada and is passionate about
delivering help to Canadian communities.
Over the past year, Speroway has distributed
2. 7 million pounds of food and other essen-
tials within Canada. This includes the distri-
bution of 4,785 food boxes and 2,354 hygiene
boxes at local community food drops.
It is through the generosity of committed partners that Speroway is able to deliver
food, education and health care, altering
the reality of poverty by delivering hope to

Simplifying church ministry
Every church has data – often tonnes of it –
including membership information, giving
information, ministry involvements and lists
upon lists. As staff roles change, information gets misplaced, out of date or simply
There is a better way.
The people at Sunergo Systems have
been helping churches work through these
challenges for over eight years. Sunergo’s
integrated approach eliminates duplication,
improving quality and accuracy.
Churches of all sizes can benefit. Recently,
a growing multi-service, multi-site church
asked for Sunergo’s help. Using separate
systems for various ministries and locations
had reached its elastic limit. Sunergo Tools
brought all the data “under one roof.” No
more duplication, searching and updating
The tools are web based, making data
management a breeze across the main
campus as well as the extension site in a local school. All ministries can move for ward,
each with the full picture of how each person
and family is connected to the church.
Integrated Sunergo Church Tools are in
use in dozens of churches of all sizes across
the country. Contact us today to see how

Following your passion
Daniel hainaut (BA 2014) has always been
devoted to his hobbies, passions and the
people who surround him. “My parents have
pushed me to understand what my passions
are and to pursue those,” said Daniel. These
teachings continue to play an increasingly
larger role in his life.
At Tyndale, Daniel found he was able to
follow his passions and turn them into ac-
tion. he was engaged in the things he loves,
such as music, athletic competition and
Daniel says that most of what he does
is “out of passion and out of excitement.”
These motivations drew him to become very
involved in the Tyndale community—as a
resident advisor, community group leader,
worship team member, multiple intramural
sports player, and student council member.
Explaining the dramatic change in his life,
Daniel commented, “When I got to Tyndale,
I was mostly focused on myself. I was self-
centred and cocky, defining myself by own
abilities and my own knowledge. As time went
on, I allowed God to change me and help me
develop. he introduced me to healthy relation-
ships. I found myself pouring into individuals
more and more, allowing God to humble me
and take away the focus on me and turn the
focusto others. Visit www.tyndaleu.ca.
Yonge Street mission
making a difference
For as little as $3.11 for a meal, you can spread
hope in the city to thousands of people and
show them that Christmas is about God’s
love, peace and justice. At The Yonge Street
Mission (YSM), Christmas is our busiest sea-
son as we serve thousands of meals to com-
munity members at many of our locations.
When community members come to
the mission, they are warmly welcomed by
friends and are served warm, healthy, deli-
cious turkey dinners with all the trimmings.
Not only do we serve thousands of meals, we
also hand out thousands of toys to com-
munity families through our Christmas Toy
Giving during the holiday season shows
a Christ-like love that touches the hearts of
people in unseen ways. “YSM is very import-
ant to those who are less fortunate,” said one
donor. “You have my respect, admiration and
love of humanity. You make a difference!”
Every Christmas, gifts of $3.11 take the
stress of poverty away from those we serve. If
you would like to help spread hope in the city
this Christmas, please call us at 800-416-5111
or donate online at www.ysm.ca/donate.
